This past weekend I traveled to Epcot with family to experience the International Food & Wine Festival. It’s my favorite (along with the Osbourne lights) event that Walt Disney World hosts.
The World Showcase fills with 29 Marketplaces, each representing a different country. They have miniature portions of International food and beverages that are absolutely delicious. Sampling new cuisines has never been so fun.
This year they introduced a passport that you could go around and stamp. It also allowed you to check-off what you’ve eaten and drank in each country.
We managed to sample 9 of the 29 countries. Lack of stomach space and increasing crowds forced us to move on, but here were some of the highlights.
Desserts & Champagne: Dessert Trio of Lemon Chiffon, White Chocolate Macadamia Mousse with Dark Chocolate Pearls, and Tres Leche Verrine
Greece: Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey
Hawai’i: Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayo
Canada: Canadian Beer Cheese Soup
Ireland: Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Baileys Ganache
I highly recommend attending this festival. It can get crowded, so prepare yourself for lines should you visit on a weekend. It runs until next Saturday, but there’s always next year!
